Moonshot Mindset

Exponential technologies enable our next mindset, known as Moonshot Thinking.

Most people and companies are happy with incremental progress in their lives. They are happy with 10% more revenue or salary or a 10% reduction in costs. The challenge is that if you’re only aiming for 10%, then 10% is likely what you’ll get. Why are many folks happy with 10%? Because 10% is anchored in an incremental and scarcity mindset.

But the world’s most successful people don’t act based on scarcity. They act based on their Abundance and Exponential Mindsets and pursue a 10x improvement in their lives. Put differently, they pursue a 1000% change, what we’ll refer to as a Moonshot.

A Moonshot Mindset lets us set goals that are radically difficult. Billion-person challenges. Objectives that sound crazy until they are suddenly achieved and thereafter are called breakthroughs.

Moonshots are ventures that require a lot of risk, new ways of thinking, and data-driven Experimentation, but they are also ventures that ultimately pay exponential rewards.

A Moonshot Mindset allows us to ask: What is the 10X version of my product? My company? My industry? Or my life?

Perhaps you came to this book not being interested in a Moonshot, just figuring out your Purpose or MTP would be good enough. But don’t discount the excitement of taking a Moonshot.
